Just before heading to his official visit at Georgia Tech last week, Landon Roldan made a stop in Georgia for a private workout. The Bulldogs were hosting a 7-on-7 camp, and although North Oconee wasn’t involved, Roldan received an invitation to join Kirby Smart, Mike Bobo, and James Coley during lunch for a workout.
Georgia had already seen Roldan perform well at a camp on May 30, but this session with Smart, Bobo, and Coley was the decisive factor.
“They were in the middle of their 7-on-7 that day, and typically they pull players out during lunch for workouts with the coaches. They invited me to join them during lunchtime. I hadn’t been at the 7-on-7, but I showed up for the workout.
We did some drills, some one-on-ones,” Roldan explained to Dawgs247. “Afterwards, Coach Smart pulled me aside and said, ‘We’re going to offer you.’ I was really excited, pumped up about it. Georgia has been my dream school since I was young, so I was just thrilled.”
