Brian Jean-Mary secured his first commitment in his return as Michigan Wolverines’ linebackers coach, with three-star linebacker Chase Taylor announcing his decision on Monday. Originally offered under Michigan’s previous coaching staff, Taylor, hailing from Stockbridge, Georgia, stands at a solid 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He chose Michigan after a recent visit and is expected to bolster the team’s linebacker depth, which has been thinned by departures.

While not among the top-rated prospects, Taylor was heavily pursued by Jean-Mary and the new defensive coaching setup. His commitment adds to a defensive recruiting class that already includes notable names like four-star defensive back Kainoa Winston and a trio of four-star defensive linemen.

Taylor, who also fielded offers from USC, South Carolina, and several other programs, is ranked as the No. 582 overall player, the 61st linebacker nationally, and the 64th prospect from Georgia according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
