West Ham appear poised to make a third attempt to acquire Wolves defender Max Kilman, who recently attracted interest from Newcastle United in a proposed exchange deal. According to The Telegraph, Newcastle offered Elliot Anderson plus cash for the center-back, but Wolves swiftly dismissed the offer, holding out for £40 million.
Subsequently, Fabrizio Romano reported that West Ham are persisting in their pursuit of the 27-year-old and are preparing to submit another bid. Their initial offer of £25 million was swiftly turned down, and their second bid, believed to involve a player exchange, was also rebuffed by Wolves.
The situation is uncertain regarding whether Newcastle will come back with a revised offer for the 6ft 4in defender. It appears that new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is keen to reunite with Kilman, whom he previously worked with at Molineux.
Kilman would be a reliable addition for West Ham due to his extensive Premier League experience and leadership qualities as a club captain. However, some may question whether there are better options available on the market, especially given that Kilman would likely serve as a long-term replacement for Fabian Schar.
