The Texas Longhorns have secured their second commitment for the 2026 recruiting class, enhancing their roster with another promising talent. Chris Stewart, a highly-regarded four-star wide receiver from Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas, announced his commitment via Twitter. Standing at 6-0 and weighing 175 pounds, Stewart is ranked as the No. 27 overall player in the state by 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Stewart’s decision adds depth to Texas’ developing 2026 class, which already includes five-star quarterback Dia Bell. Despite receiving offers from prestigious programs like Michigan, Alabama, and Oklahoma, Stewart chose Texas following his attendance at their Junior Day and subsequent camps.
Last season, Stewart showcased his skills with 35 receptions for 654 yards and 10 touchdowns. With commitments from Bell and Stewart, Texas is establishing a solid foundation for their future recruiting efforts, with plans also underway to host five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart on an unofficial visit.
While the focus remains on the upcoming season and bolstering the 2025 recruiting class, the momentum is building for Texas in shaping a competitive roster for 2026 under the guidance of coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff.
