Ohio State’s football recruiting class has expanded to 20 commitments with the addition of 3-star tight end Brody Lennon. In the past week alone, they’ve secured four commitments, and in June, they’ve gained a total of eight. Analysts predict more additions in the near future.

This Friday, defensive tackle Trajen Odom is expected to choose Ohio State over USC and Oregon. Standing at 6’4” and 285 pounds, Odom, ranked 31st among interior linemen, hails from Matthews, NC. Another prospective commitment is Maxwell Roy, a 6’3”, 270-pound interior defensive lineman. Like Marvin Harrison, Jr. and running back Isaiah West, Roy is from the same high school. Despite earlier expectations favoring Michigan, experts now believe he will commit to Ohio State due to his recent visit there and his impressive skills, placing him 19th among defensive tackles.

There’s uncertainty surrounding running back Jordon Davison from Santa Ana, CA, as some believe he may choose a different program despite earlier predictions linking him to Ohio State. If Davison does not join the Buckeyes, they are keen on adding a third running back to their recruiting class.

Looking ahead, attention is on two upcoming announcements. On Wednesday, Justin Hill, the 7th-ranked edge rusher from Winton Woods High School, will decide among Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, and USC. Hill is highly coveted by Ohio State for his potential to play the hybrid Jack position in their defensive scheme. Also on the radar is Damien Shanklin, the 11th-ranked edge rusher from Indianapolis, who will announce his decision on July 5th; LSU is currently favored.

Additionally, highly sought-after prospects David Sanders, Jr., a five-star offensive tackle, and Trey McNutt, the top safety recruit, have yet to announce their commitments. Sanders has narrowed his choices to Ohio State and Tennessee, while McNutt, son of former Buckeye Richard McNutt, is expected to schedule an official visit to Ohio State soon.

With 20 commitments already secured, Ohio State’s recruiting class is nearing capacity, likely leaving room for five to six more players. They remain actively pursuing key targets such as Malik Autry, a defensive tackle committed to Auburn, whom they hope to flip after his recent visit. Coach Ryan Day and his staff continue to diligently shape their recruiting class, emphasizing both completion and strategic planning moving forward.
