Wolverhampton Wanderers are nearing the completion of a deal to bring Celta Vigo star Jørgen Strand Larsen to their squad. According to Marca, Wolves reached an agreement with Celta Vigo on Friday night for the striker to join initially on loan, with an obligation to buy. The transfer is expected to be officially announced next week.
Jørgen corroborates this, reporting that the purchase obligation is set at approximately €30 million. Larsen, who impressed with 13 goals and three assists last season, attracted interest from multiple clubs in Italy and England, but Wolves emerged victorious in securing his signature.
The transaction is structured under a deferred sale model, allowing Celta Vigo to accelerate efforts to finalize the move to Molineux before the end of the current financial year on Sunday. Although the official transfer announcement will be made next week, it will be accounted for in the 2023/24 financial season.
Wolves will pay a loan fee that will be deducted from the eventual €30 million fee agreed upon to make Larsen’s move permanent in 2025. The deal also reportedly includes bonuses and a percentage of any future sale of the forward.
