St. Louis CITY SC has brought in forward Brendan McSorley and defenders Tyson Pearce and Jayden Reid on a short-term loan from their MLS NEXT Pro team, St. Louis CITY2. These players will be available for Saturday’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 9:30 p.m. CT at BC Place.
McSorley, who made his MLS debut on June 19 against the Colorado Rapids, is receiving his third call-up. He has played 13 matches for CITY2, scoring two goals. Originally from Randolph, New Jersey, he played four years at Providence College, where he scored 23 goals and had five assists in 62 games, with an impressive senior year of 11 goals and one assist in 17 matches.
Sixteen-year-old Pearce, one of the club’s three homegrown players, is off the senior roster. This is his second MLS call-up this season, having participated in 12 out of 15 CITY2 matches, starting eight.
Reid, 22, made his MLS debut on June 22 against Atlanta United, playing the full match. This is his second MLS call-up of 2024. A former Red Bulls Academy player, Reid joined CITY2 after being signed as the 29th Red Bulls Homegrown in December 2022. He has started all 13 matches for CITY2, contributing two assists as a left back.
