Last week, Algerian journalist Abdel Hamed indicated on Twitter that Ait-Nouri was likely to depart Wolves this summer, with Liverpool leading the race to sign him. Hamed suggested that Ait-Nouri expressed a desire to be coached by Klopp, and the recent appointment of Arne Slot at Liverpool was not a deterrent to his decision.
Despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester City, Hamed, who seems to have connections with the player, explained that Ait-Nouri was swayed by concerns over Chelsea’s unclear project and perceived lack of freedom under Pep Guardiola at City.
Algerian outlet La Gazette du Fennec supported these claims, stating Wolves would demand at least €40 million (£33.9m) for the 23-year-old, who reportedly has a release clause set at €45 million (£38.2m).
Sources in Algeria strongly believe Ait-Nouri will leave Wolves this summer, with Liverpool seen as his most probable destination. Liverpool journalist David Lynch, speaking on Anfield Index’s Media Matters podcast, endorsed these rumors, suggesting there is substantial credibility to them due to Liverpool’s established ties with Ait-Nouri’s agency, Gestifute, which also represents several other Liverpool targets.
Lynch noted that any move for Ait-Nouri would likely hinge on Liverpool first finding a buyer for Kostas Tsimipokas, whose future at Anfield is uncertain. Lynch emphasized that Liverpool would need to resolve the Tsimikas situation before seriously pursuing Ait-Nouri, as the club does not typically accumulate players without a clear plan for their roles.
