Huddersfield Town have reportedly secured Bristol Rovers midfielder Antony Evans with an accepted offer. According to Bristol Live, the fee is around £450,000 for the 25-year-old, who earned the title of Gas’ Player of the Season last year.
Previously, Town had a bid turned down by Bristol Rovers, but they have since returned with an improved offer and are poised to finalize the midfielder’s transfer before the upcoming season. Evans played 52 matches across all competitions last season, scoring ten goals and providing nine assists. Since joining from SC Paderborn in 2021, he has made 142 appearances for Bristol Rovers, scoring a total of 26 goals.
Evans began his career at Everton and had loan spells at Morecambe and Blackpool before moving to SC Paderborn in January 2020. He spent the latter half of the 2020/21 season on loan at Crewe Alexandra before his permanent move to Bristol Rovers.
Huddersfield Town have been active in the transfer market this window, adding wing-backs Lasse Sorensen from Lincoln City and Mickel Miller from Plymouth Argyle, along with midfielder Herbie Kane from Barnsley. They have also seen midfielder Jack Rudoni depart for Championship side Coventry City.
