Former Syracuse Orange standout Buddy Boeheim quickly secured a new NBA opportunity after his recent release from the Detroit Pistons. He has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed deal for training camp. Since Buddy has less than three years of service, there’s a chance he could transition to a two-way contract, similar to his previous arrangement in Detroit.
Last season, Boeheim played 10 games with the Pistons, scoring 34 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In the G League, he appeared in 31 games and averaged 17.2 points per game, shooting 42% from beyond the arc.

With 13 players already under contract and two first-round picks still to sign (Nikola Topic and Dillon Jones), the Thunder’s roster is nearly set. If Nikola Topic faces injury setbacks, Buddy might secure another two-way deal and play for the Oklahoma City Blue, the reigning G League champions.
We’ll continue to follow Buddy’s journey throughout the summer and into early fall as he aims to carve out a role with a competitive team.
