Celta Vigo’s striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has finalized his initial loan switch to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Norwegian will initially join on loan, with the agreement set to automatically convert to a permanent deal until 2029 if specific appearance-based conditions are met.

Larsen underwent his medical evaluation on Monday and was subsequently formally announced. Last season, he netted 13 goals and contributed three assists for Celta in the league.

The 24-year-old, formerly with Sarpsborg and Groningen, will wear the number nine jersey for Wolverhampton. The overall package could potentially reach €30 million if Larsen’s loan arrangement transitions into a permanent contract.

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Larsen can play in multiple attacking roles but primarily functions as a traditional center-forward. Known for his physical presence and ability to link play, the Norwegian international has 14 caps for his country, scoring three goals, including one against Scotland in a 3-3 draw during a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier.

Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobs is confident Larsen will thrive at his new club and believes the environment will support his ongoing development.
