Breaking: Ohio State Loses An Offensive key player due to serious Injury, Putting Their 2024 Season In Jeopardy

Ohio State football will soon arrive, and they are poised to possess one of college football’s finest backfields. TreVeyon Henderson, the senior running back, surprised many by opting to return to school rather than enter the NFL Draft in April, where he would have been among the top picks for running backs.

Henderson aims to further boost his draft prospects this season. However, changes have occurred in the backfield since last year: Chip Trayanum moved to Kentucky, Dallan Hayden transferred to Colorado, and Miyan Williams joined the NFL.

Ohio State football star TreVeyon Henderson driven to succeed

Quinshon Judkins, formerly of Ole Miss, has joined Ohio State and will share the rushing duties with Henderson, creating a formidable running back duo. Unfortunately, it’s likely that one of the running backs in this talented group will not be part of the team for the 2024 season.

Ohio State Loses A Running Back

On Friday, Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors reported that walk-on running back TC Caffey sustained a knee injury during offseason workouts, sidelining him just before the upcoming season begins. Losing a player at this stage is always unfortunate, especially considering Caffey, though a walk-on in a competitive running back group, had potential for playing time this season. Ohio State faced the departure of three running backs in the offseason, and despite the addition of Quinshon Judkins, there remains a need for a reliable third back. The only other running backs on scholarship are true freshmen James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon.

TreVeyon Henderson has a history of occasional injuries; he appeared in eight games in 2022 and ten in 2023, suggesting he may miss playing time this year as well.

On a positive note, Ohio State now has quarterback Will Howard, who adds a running threat compared to last year’s Kyle McCord, enhancing the team’s offensive versatility.

It’s disappointing for Caffey to miss the season, but there’s hope he’ll recover fully and contribute as a significant ball carrier for the team in 2025.
