US Olympic track and field key star found dead

Tori Bowie, a renowned track and field athlete who achieved three Olympic medals, has passed away at the age of 32, as confirmed by her management company. Icon Management expressed deep sorrow, describing her as not only a client but also a cherished friend, daughter, and sister whose brilliance and positivity were truly inspiring. USA Track and Field CEO Max Siegel also expressed profound sadness at her death, highlighting her immense impact on the sport.

Authorities discovered Bowie’s body during a wellness check at her home in Florida on May 2, with no indications of foul play reported. The exact circumstances surrounding her death have not been disclosed.

World Athletics mourned Bowie’s loss on social media, noting her significant achievements, including becoming the world 100-meter champion in 2017. She made history as the sole American woman to claim an Olympic or world 100-meter title since 2011, adding to her legacy as a silver and bronze medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympics and contributing to Team USA’s gold in the 4×100-meter relay.

Raised by her grandmother in Sandhill, Mississippi, after spending time in foster care, Bowie credited her upbringing for instilling in her the belief that she could achieve anything she set her mind to. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi and began her medal-winning career at the World Championships in 2015.

Bowie’s final competition was in June 2022, marking the end of a remarkable athletic journey that inspired many around the world.
