On Friday, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested under suspicion of DUI, marking a challenging moment for the 22-year-old, particularly given his previous speeding incident last summer where he was caught driving at 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.
Adding to the complexity, just weeks ago, Addison’s new teammate Khyree Jackson and two others tragically died in a car accident possibly involving alcohol.
As of Tuesday, details surrounding Addison’s arrest remained sparse. There were no records of his booking in any LA County jails, nor was there a mug shot available. The primary source of information was a non-public “arrest report” obtained by several media outlets, leaving the situation still ambiguous.
However, this evening, Minnesota Sports Fan obtained the same California Highway Patrol “arrest report” that other media had, revealing additional details. The report, resembling more of a press release than a typical police report, provided a brief summary of the events that occurred that night. It included Addison’s full name, city of residence, date of birth, and the specifics of his arrest location.
Minnesota Sports Fan confirmed with the LA County jail that Addison was never booked into their system on Friday night. They discovered from the California Highway Patrol that Addison was not booked because he qualified for “cite and release” as a first-time offender and was not deemed a threat. Following his arrest for suspicion of DUI, Addison was released to family or friends with only a court date and a citation, bypassing the typical booking process and mug shot.
