Kyle Busch has expressed his frustration with Corey LaJoie following their incident at Pocono, stating that he hasn’t spoken to LaJoie since then because he considers him a liar. During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Busch mentioned that LaJoie had contacted him multiple times but he didn’t respond because LaJoie changed his story several times regarding the incident.
Busch emphasized that he believes LaJoie intentionally wrecked him by clipping his car on a restart at Pocono, causing a crash that involved other drivers. He asserted that payback is forthcoming, implying he plans to retaliate in a future race.
On the other hand, LaJoie has stated on his podcast “Stacking Pennies” that the contact was not intentional and expressed a willingness to discuss the incident with Busch. He explained that he felt bad about the incident after reviewing the footage and acknowledged that the aggressive nature of restarts played a role in the collision.
The incident between Busch and LaJoie has added to a frustrating season for Busch, who has faced several race-ending incidents recently. He admitted that while his team’s cars have not been performing well, he also takes responsibility for some mistakes he’s made during races.
Overall, the situation between Busch and LaJoie underscores the intense competition and occasional conflicts that can arise in NASCAR racing.
