Dallas Turner signed his debut NFL contract with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, as confirmed by the team. This finalizes the contracts for all players with Alabama football backgrounds selected in the 2024 NFL Draft just in time for the start of training camp.

Prior to Turner’s signing, the other 26 draft picks from Alabama high schools and colleges had already inked their rookie deals. Each rookie receives a standard four-year contract, and the total value for Alabama-rooted players in this draft ranges from approximately $26.045 million to about $4.101 million. Cumulatively, these 27 contracts amount to approximately $137.606 million, calculated based on the NFL’s 2024 salary cap and the rookie compensation pool outlined in the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with the players’ association. While the overall contract values are predetermined, details such as guaranteed money can still be negotiated.

5 Things to Know About Dallas Turner

Before 2011, rookie contract terms were fully negotiable, exemplified by quarterback JaMarcus Russell’s landmark deal as the top pick in 2007, valued at $61 million over six years with the Oakland Raiders.

Tragically, one of this year’s draft picks, Khyree Jackson, a fourth-round selection by the Vikings and former Alabama cornerback, passed away in a car accident on July 6, unable to join training camp or pursue an NFL career.
