Caleb Wiley has recently completed a transfer to Premier League club Chelsea from Atlanta United. Despite concerns about his playing time at Chelsea, those worries may be eased with the possibility of a loan move to Strasbourg.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “Wiley has joined Chelsea for £8.5 million plus a sell-on clause from Atlanta United. He has signed a contract until June 2030 with an option for an additional season. There’s a chance he could join Strasbourg on loan in the coming weeks.”
Chelsea’s ownership, BlueCo, may see Strasbourg as a beneficial environment for Wiley’s development. Strasbourg, who finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season, recently parted ways with manager Patrick Vieria. Vieria is now reportedly linked with the vacant head coach position for the US Men’s National Team.
Wiley is currently with the United States Olympic team, which could help him acclimate to potential future surroundings in France.
