BREAKING: FSU Football Lands brilliant Wide Receiver In Recruiting Surprise

Recruiting often brings unexpected twists, both positive and negative.

On Thursday afternoon, Florida State experienced a surprising win when four-star wide receiver Malik Clark committed to the Seminoles over South Carolina, North Carolina, and NC State. Despite South Carolina being the public favorite leading up to the decision, Florida State made a strong final impression and secured his commitment.

Clark visited Tallahassee for an official visit in June and toured all his potential schools this summer before setting a decision date last week. His commitment is a significant boost for Florida State, enhancing the talent pool for their future wide receiver lineup. Recently, the Seminoles also signed four-star receivers CJ Wiley and Daylan McCutcheon. With Clark’s commitment, Florida State is likely finished recruiting at this position for this cycle, though they may still monitor five-star Kaliq Lockett, who is expected to decide in August.

Clark had an impressive junior season, recording 46 catches for 800 yards and nine touchdowns. He also excels in track and field, finishing third in the South Carolina 5A 100-meter finals with a time of 10.62 seconds and winning the 5A Upper State title with a personal-best 10.55 seconds.

With Clark on board, Florida State now has 13 verbal commitments for its 2025 class, which is currently ranked No. 18 nationally. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound receiver is considered the No. 213 overall prospect, No. 24 wide receiver, and No. 3 recruit in South Carolina for the 2025 class by 247Sports.
