BREAKING NEWS: Rockies star player set to leave for MLB top team before deadline

For the past month and a half, trade talks have swirled around Elias Díaz, the catcher who was named MVP of the 2023 All-Star Game. Several teams have shown interest in acquiring him. Díaz has accumulated 72 hits, five home runs, and 30 RBIs in 254 at-bats, boasting a .283/.333/.402 slash line this season. His defensive performance behind the plate has also been among the best in his career compared to other catchers in the league.

While the Rockies would feel the absence of Díaz’s contributions, trading him could potentially benefit the team in the long run. Such a move would pave the way for Jacob Stallings to assume the role of the team’s primary starting catcher. Given the frequent mentions of Díaz’s name in trade discussions, it wouldn’t be surprising to witness the previous year’s Midsummer Classic MVP relocate to another team.
