BREAKING NEWS: Wells Fargo to Drop Its Name From Philadelphia Sports Arena

Wells Fargo intends to remove its name from the South Philadelphia sports arena, home to the Flyers and 76ers, once its current contract expires in 2025.

A spokesperson from Wells Fargo stated on Wednesday that the decision not to renew the naming rights contract for the Wells Fargo Center is part of their ongoing review and adjustment of sponsorship strategies.

Despite this change, Wells Fargo expressed appreciation for their partnership with Comcast Spectacor and looks forward to continued collaboration on events at the arena until the contract concludes in August 2025.

Comcast Spectacor, the arena’s owner, acknowledged Wells Fargo’s decision and expressed gratitude for their longstanding relationship. They also indicated plans to seek a new partner for naming rights, ensuring fans in the Philadelphia region continue to enjoy top-tier sports and entertainment experiences.

The arena, which has undergone several name changes since its opening in 1996, has been known as the “Wells Fargo Center” since 2010. As of now, the future name of the arena post-2025 remains undetermined.
