SNY’s David Vertsberger recently analyzed potential big men targets for the New York Knicks as they gear up for the 2024-25 season. While Clint Capela is a top contender for the Knicks, Vertsberger suggests that Brook Lopez could add a fresh dimension to the team if they trade Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa for him.
Lopez had a strong season with the Bucks, closely mirroring his performance during their 2021 NBA Finals win. He averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, with shooting splits of 48.5% from the field, 36.6% from three-point range, and 82.1% from the free-throw line. Additionally, he contributed significantly on defense, blocking 2.4 shots per game.
Acquiring Lopez would give the Knicks a dependable big man who can space the floor, complementing their Villanova core’s interior play, while also providing solid rim protection.
