Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has given an update on the lengthy signing process of Harrison Burrows, revealing that Sheffield United is set to announce the player’s arrival at Bramall Lane very soon.
Burrows has reportedly completed his medical with Sheffield United, but the official confirmation of his move has not yet been made. MacAnthony responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that the deal is now in the hands of the buying club.
He stated: “For clarity: We accepted the formal bid on Sunday, the player passed his medical on Wednesday, signed a long-term deal, and we completed our paperwork. It is now up to the buying club to submit and announce the transfer officially. That’s the standard procedure. Thanks.”
Burrows would be Sheffield United’s fifth signing of the summer, joining Jamie Shackleton, Sam McCallum, Kieffer Moore, and Callum O’Hare. Fans were hoping that Burrows would be available to make his debut in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
