BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Bills officially confirm the signing of top star Cornerback on a stunning deal

The Buffalo Bills have signed safety Kareem Jackson to a one-year deal as of Tuesday morning. This move strengthens a safety group that was in need of veteran presence. On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott revealed that veteran safety Mike Edwards is dealing with a hamstring injury and is considered “week-to-week.”

Jackson, 36, is entering his 15th NFL season. Originally a first-round pick by the Houston Texans, he is known for his leadership in the locker room and his intense play, which has sometimes led to fines for illegal hits.

Jackson boasts a strong resume, having played significant time with both the Texans and Denver Broncos. Despite his age, he continues to perform well, with two interceptions, three defended passes, and 37 solo tackles (53 total) in 10 games for Houston and Denver in 2023.

The Bills have seen major changes at the safety position this offseason, with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde departing. Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin are the only returning safeties from 2023, with Cam Lewis also available but primarily listed as a defensive back.

With Edwards’ return uncertain, Jackson’s signing may help the Bills assess their remaining safety options. He could be viewed as a contingency plan in case of emergencies.

To accommodate Jackson’s addition, the Bills have released linebacker Shayne Simon.
