After Aaron Rodgers expressed his excitement about potentially reuniting with Davante Adams, the receiver and his agents felt the need to clarify that Adams will remain with the Las Vegas Raiders, at least for the time being.
Rodgers had sparked speculation about a possible reunion during the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe earlier this month. In an interview, he said, “I love Davante. I can’t wait to play with him… again.”
On Monday, Rodgers addressed the comments that had fueled rumors about Adams possibly joining him in New York. “Well, I do love Davante, for sure,” Rodgers said, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. “That particular reporter was a bit annoying. Sometimes you just give an answer to move on from repetitive questions.”
Rodgers, with a grin, added, “Yeah, but I think I was referring to golf.”
During his time with Rodgers, Adams amassed 622 receptions for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns over 108 games, earning Pro Bowl selections five times while with the Green Bay Packers.
