The Houston Texans took on the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game last Thursday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The Texans lost 17-21, with the game being cut short at the end of the third quarter due to weather conditions. An interesting aspect of the game was the battle for the TE3 position.
Third-year player Teagan Quitoriano started at tight end. He had two catches for 21 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown reception from Davis Mills during their opening drive. Quitoriano, however, played only nine offensive snaps before leaving the game with a lower-body injury.
Quitoriano was carted off the field for further evaluation, but fortunately, the injury is not expected to be serious.
With Quitoriano sidelined, Cade Stover will step in as the TE3. Stover, who played five college seasons with the Buckeyes, the last three as a tight end, was drafted by the Texans in the fourth round, rejoining his former college teammate C.J. Stroud. In the game, Stover had two receptions for 26 yards on three targets during 36 offensive snaps.
