JUST IN: Four-Star QB Lights Up Ducks’ Future with Commitment to Oregon Football

The Oregon Ducks football program has secured a major commitment from four-star quarterback Jonas Williams, a member of the 2026 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2 prospect from Illinois announced his decision to join the Ducks on social media on August 3rd, following an unofficial visit to Oregon the previous week.

Williams, a Top 10 quarterback prospect, chose Oregon over Ohio State, LSU, and Alabama. He made unofficial visits to all four schools during the spring and summer, with multiple trips to Oregon. Oregon’s QB coach and Offensive Coordinator Will Stein played a crucial role in the recruitment process.

Williams made his commitment known via social media. In late May, 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins released a scouting report on him.

Rated as the No. 133 player nationally in the 2026 class by 247Sports, Williams is also the No. 8 quarterback and the No. 4 player in Illinois. The 247Sports Composite places him in the Top 100 overall prospects, with a ranking of 98.

Before committing to Oregon, Williams had offers from nearly 30 schools.
