LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka will miss the entire season due to a knee injury, marking the third time in four years he’s faced such a setback, as confirmed by coach Matt Rhule on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-10, 315-pound junior was set to start as the left tackle but tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a one-on-one drill on Monday.
“This is approaching his fourth surgery,” Rhule noted. “It’s an extremely tough situation for him. He showed up at the team meeting last night with an incredible attitude despite everything.”
Rhule added that redshirt freshman Gunnar Gottula has been practicing at left tackle with the starting offense.
Prochazka appeared in 10 games last season, starting the last five at left tackle. He began the 2022 season as a starter for the first three games before a right knee injury cut his season short. In 2021, he played five games before tearing the ACL in his left knee.
Additionally, Rhule revealed that freshman Roger Gradney has also sustained a season-ending knee injury.
