Rams have signed offensive linemen, released tight end and defensive back

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – To bolster their offensive line depth amid injuries sustained during training camp, the Rams have signed Conor McDermott and Matt Kaskey. The team has also released tight end Neal Johnson and defensive back Kenny Logan Jr.

Conor McDermott, 31, began his NFL career with the Bills in 2017 and 2018. He was claimed off waivers by the Jets in 2019 and was later traded to the Patriots after Week 11 of the 2022 season. McDermott played for the Patriots in 2023, starting 5 of 6 games. Over his career, he has appeared in 55 NFL games with 17 starts across multiple positions including right guard, left tackle, right tackle, and as a tackle-eligible tight end. He was initially drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round out of UCLA.

Matt Kaskey, 27, last played in the UFL for the Birmingham Stallions. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Rams from Dartmouth in 2019. After being waived by the Rams that year, he joined the Panthers and spent most of 2019-21 on their practice squad. After a stint with the Stallions in 2022, he briefly signed with the Chargers in August 2023 before being waived.

These signings come as Alaric Jackson (ankle), Rob Havenstein (ankle), and Jonah Jackson (shoulder) are all dealing with week-to-week injuries.

Additionally, Lindstrom, 26, recently played for the Memphis Showboats in the UFL. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys out of Boston College in 2022. After recovering from two back injuries sustained during his time with Dallas, he resumed his career with the Showboats. At Boston College, he was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the top center in college football.
