BREAKING NEWS: Suspect killed, 2 officers injured in Kaufman County shooting

Kaufman County, Texas (KLTV) – Texas Rangers are looking into a shooting at a gas station that resulted in the death of a suspect and injuries to two officers.

Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, a Kaufman County sheriff’s deputy and a Crandall police officer responded to a panic alarm in the 5000 block of FM 741. When they arrived, they encountered an adult male suspect.

Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson James Whitaker reported that gunfire was exchanged, resulting in both officers being wounded in the leg and the suspect also being shot.

Despite efforts to save him, the suspect was declared dead at the scene. The officers were taken to Baylor Hospital in Dallas with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident, and Whitaker indicated that more information will be provided as it becomes available.
