
On August 11, Trevino began a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset as he nears his return to major league play. During his outing, he played five innings as the catcher and went 0-for-1 with one walk in the game against Binghamton.

Trevino sustained a Grade 2 left quad strain on July 14, an injury that occurred while he was running the bases in a game against the Orioles on July 12. Prior to the injury, Trevino was batting .244 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs, sharing catching duties with Austin Wells.
