BREAKING: Ohio State Buckeyes have lost another key player for the season due to a severe accident

The Ohio State Buckeyes have received some disappointing news for the 2024 college football season. Although they remain strong National Championship contenders, they will be without a player who was anticipated to be a significant contributor.

Dave Biddle of BuckNuts reports that running back TC Caffey is expected to miss the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury. According to two sources who shared the information with BuckNuts, Caffey, a walk-on who was expected to address concerns about depth at running back, has suffered an injury that jeopardizes his season.

BuckNuts reached out to Ohio State for confirmation, but received no comment on the matter, as the university is not providing details on injury situations.

Mar 5, 2024; Columbus, OH, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes running back TC Caffey (28) runs during the first spring practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

This injury could impact what has been a promising season for Caffey, who had been impressing and vying for the No. 3 running back spot. Standing at 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds, Caffey’s opportunity may slip away as he focuses on rehabilitation and aims to return for the 2025 season.

Caffey’s time at Ohio State has been challenging, with a torn ACL during his freshman year in 2022 and now this setback.

Fortunately, Ohio State has strong options at running back with Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson leading the depth chart. While there is hope that Caffey might return later in the season, it seems unlikely at this point.
