Just In: Red Sox Place Veteran Left-Hander on IL with Alarming Injury Diagnosis, activates JD

The Boston Red Sox have placed left-hander Cam Booser on the 15-day injured list due to left elbow inflammation.

In other roster moves, the Red Sox activated outfielder Jarren Duran, recalled left-hander Brennan Bernardino from Triple-A Worcester, optioned second baseman Enmanuel Valdez to Worcester, and signed right-hander Brad Keller to a minor league contract. Booser last appeared on Tuesday, facing three batters without recording an out in Boston’s 9-4 home victory over the Texas Rangers.

Valdez, 25, is batting .224 (38-for-170) with six home runs and 27 RBIs in 59 games with the Red Sox this season.
