BREAKING NEWS: Grad Transfer Chambers Signs with Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – Staci Chambers, a standout pitcher from Cal State Fullerton who earned All-Big West First Team honors in 2024, will join the Oregon softball team as a graduate transfer for the 2025 season, according to an announcement from coach Melyssa Lombardi on Thursday.

In 2024, Chambers led the Titans to a win in their NCAA opening round game against Saint Mary’s, recording seven strikeouts and allowing just one run on four hits in a complete-game 6-1 victory.

Chambers finished the season with a 17-6 record, a 2.07 earned run average, and 144 strikeouts over 152.0 innings pitched. She held opponents to a .216 batting average, the second-lowest in the Big West.

Throughout the season, Chambers achieved four shutouts and two saves, including a notable 1-0 no-hitter against Colorado State on February 11. She also completed seven games.

The left-handed pitcher struck out a career-high 10 batters in a 4-0 win over Hawai’i and recorded back-to-back shutouts against Fresno State and Princeton. Over her collegiate career, Chambers holds a 22-13 record, a 2.87 ERA, 189 strikeouts, and 58 walks in 219.1 innings pitched.

“Staci is a fierce competitor who is always aiming to perform at the highest level,” said Lombardi. “She brings an energetic presence to the mound, excellent spin, and impressive movement on her changeup. Adding a left-handed pitcher like Staci will make our staff more dynamic and challenging for left-handed batters. Her addition will make our pitching team more complete and balanced. I’m excited about how this team is shaping up.”

Chambers, a 5-5 left-handed pitcher from San Diego, Calif., is transferring from Cal State Fullerton, where she was a key player with numerous accolades and achievements.

Before joining Oregon, Chambers had an impressive season with Cal State Fullerton, highlighted by a strong performance and key victories. She also had a successful high school career, winning multiple championships and honors. Born in El Cajon, Calif., Chambers graduated with a degree in Psychology from CSUF and is one of eight siblings.
