Although the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills seem to be steering clear of the brawls that have marked other joint practices around the league, there was still a minor confrontation during Thursday’s session.
According to reports from various sources, including ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo, and freelance journalist Amanda Godsey, tensions flared when the Steelers’ offensive line took issue with Bills linebacker Dorian Williams and the Buffalo defense. The spark for the altercation occurred when Steelers quarterback Justin Fields ended up on the ground after a pass attempt, prompting a heated response from the Steelers’ players.
No true fights an hour into Steelers-Bills joint practice, but the special teams punt period got a liiiiittle chippy.

The incident, which began after Williams swatted down Fields’ pass, led to a brief scuffle between the teams. However, the situation was quickly defused, and no significant escalation occurred. Despite the tension, the players were able to move on, allowing practice to continue without further incident.
According to reports from the field, Justin Fields and Zach Wilson have been alternating first-team reps throughout practice, switching from period to period. Wilson took the initial snaps during the “seven shots” drill, but Fields was given the go-ahead to take most of the reps during the run-oriented portion of practice.
