Oregon football extended a scholarship offer to Horisk in May, and he recently visited the campus for the 2024 Saturday Night Live football camp at Autzen Stadium on July 29th.
Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks football team has secured a verbal commitment from Dutch Horisk, a three-star edge defender from St. John Bosco High School in Southern California, who is part of the 2026 recruiting class. Horisk announced his decision to join the Ducks on Saturday afternoon.
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 230 pounds, Horisk is ranked as the 31st edge defender and the 49th overall player in California for the 2026 class. He chose Oregon over offers from 18 other programs, including Auburn, Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
With Horisk’s commitment, the Oregon football now have five verbal commitments for the 2026 class, placing them fifth nationally in the team rankings. The other commitments include four-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene, four-star running back Tradarian Ball, four-star quarterback Jonas Williams, and four-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland.
The Oregon football have now secured their second front-seven recruit for the 2026 class, reflecting their strategy to focus on dominating the line of scrimmage. Head coach Dan Lanning and his staff have emphasized the importance of excelling in the trenches, and Horisk, as a top talent on the West Coast, aligns with this approach. His recruitment has gained momentum this summer, highlighted by standout performances at events like Oregon’s Saturday Night Live.
Recruiting from St. John Bosco is significant for the Ducks, as the school is known for producing top talent. Oregon football’s defensive coordinator, Tosh Lupoi, has a strong relationship with St. John Bosco, which contributed to Horisk’s commitment.
