LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (WBKO) – On Wednesday, Aug. 7, deputies from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office were alerted by dispatch that a woman had found her uncle’s stolen truck at the Smitty City convenience store at the intersection of KY 259 and KY 226.
The press release stated that the woman reported a man inside the vehicle, and other patrons had blocked the truck to prevent it from leaving.
When deputies arrived, they identified 41-year-old Aaron Miller from Louisville as the driver. Miller confessed to stealing the truck from the victim.
Nearby, deputies found a maroon 2007 Dodge Charger abandoned close to the Clarkson exit on the Western Kentucky Parkway. It was later revealed that Miller had stolen this vehicle from Jeffersonville, IN, and drove it until it ran out of gas before seeking another vehicle to steal.
Miller was arrested and booked into the Grayson County Detention Center on two counts of theft by unlawful taking (auto) and also had an active bench warrant from Jefferson County for failing to appear in court.
Both stolen vehicles were returned to their owners.
