BREAKING NEWS: Gators top prominent RB set to undergo sugery due to severe knee injury

The Florida Gators had high expectations for senior running back Montrell Johnson Jr. as they entered fall camp.

However, those plans were temporarily disrupted early in training camp when it was discovered that Johnson, the team’s top running back, had sustained an injury requiring arthroscopic knee surgery.

The procedure was deemed minor, and Johnson was subsequently listed as “week-to-week.” With the Gators just 11 days away from a significant season opener against No. 19 Miami, head coach Billy Napier has shared an optimistic update about Johnson’s progress.

While Johnson’s availability for the Miami game remains uncertain, Napier indicated that both he and his staff are encouraged by Johnson’s current status in his rehabilitation process.
