The Seattle Seahawks might have a roster capable of making another postseason run under new head coach Mike Macdonald, but it’s never too early for them to start planning for the 2025 NFL Draft. Although the quarterback class for that year is considered below average, the 2025 draft could feature an influx of elite defensive talent.
Seattle already boasts one of the top young defensive backs in the league with Devon Witherspoon, a potential game-changer in Riq Woolen, and a reliable veteran in Julian Love. Instead of focusing on an immediate need, the Seahawks might opt to further strengthen an already solid area.
In Field Yates’ 2025 NFL Mock Draft for ESPN, he predicts that Seattle will select one of the most high-profile names in college football. Yates has the Seahawks picking Colorado star Travis Hunter with the 11th overall pick—a versatile two-way player who excels as both a cornerback and wide receiver for the Buffaloes.
The Seahawks are known for selecting players with raw athletic potential and then figuring out how they fit into their scheme. There may not be another player in the next two drafts as physically gifted and athletic as Hunter, making him an ideal choice for Seattle.
