No More Excuses! Increased Pressure on Eagles, Jalen Hurts, and Nick Sirianni After Latest Trade

There’s nothing more to discuss. Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman has constructed an offense that appears to be virtually flawless heading into the 2024 season, especially after addressing the third wide receiver spot by trading for Jahan Dotson.

Now, no one on the team has any excuses left. For quarterback Jalen Hurts, anything less than an outstanding season could put his long-term future as the Eagles’ starting quarterback in doubt. With Dotson joining an already stacked offense featuring A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Saquon Barkley, not to mention an elite offensive line, the Eagles boast one of the most talented rosters in football.

There’s no justification for Hurts to struggle in 2024. But the added pressure isn’t solely on Hurts after the Dotson trade. Head coach Nick Sirianni, who is already seen as being on the hot seat as the new league year begins, is also under intense scrutiny. If he fails to lead this team to championship contention, it’s likely this could be his final year coaching in Philadelphia.

Hurts and Sirianni have been linked since Sirianni’s hiring in 2021. While their relationship is reportedly strained, both are facing immense pressure to deliver results in 2024. The recent trade only amplifies that expectation.
