Following the confirmation of Newey’s departure from Red Bull before the Miami Grand Prix, it initially seemed certain he would join Fred Vasseur’s growing Ferrari team. However, after several weeks of negotiations, this prospect seemed to lose momentum.

The next speculation suggested that Newey might head to Aston Martin at Silverstone, where an offer of £84 million (€100 million) over four years made the opportunity difficult to resist. This offer is reportedly still on the table, according to BBC Sport.

Despite Lawrence Stroll’s willingness to invest heavily in bringing Newey to Aston Martin, it appears that financial incentives alone may not be enough to secure his services. The report indicates that Alpine’s newly appointed chief, Flavio Briatore, has engaged in ‘extensive talks’ about a potential surprising move to Alpine.

Adrian Newey deve continuar na Red Bull

If Newey were to join Alpine, it would be a significant boost for the team. Alpine has faced frequent managerial changes in recent years, impacting their on-track performance. They arrived at the season opener in Bahrain with the slowest car on the grid, and although improvements have been made, they are still projected to finish 8th in the 2024 season.

However, Alpine is not the only team vying for Newey’s expertise for 2025. Williams is also interested in his services, which would revive a successful collaboration from the 1990s. During that period, Newey played a crucial role in Williams’ most successful era, helping the team win four World Championships and achieve 59 race victories and 78 pole positions out of 114 Grands Prix.
