Jennifer Lopez isn’t the only one from the former Lopez-Alex Rodriguez relationship making headlines this month due to their relationship status; A-Rod has also captured some attention, though on a much smaller scale.
While Jennifer Lopez has been in the spotlight all summer because of her long-awaited and now-official divorce, Alex Rodriguez recently went viral on social media for an unusually dull date night with his girlfriend, Jaclyn Cordeiro. The date involved sitting on a dock and watching a New York Yankees game on an iPad.
A viral post on X, formerly known as Twitter, summed it up: “Date night but it’s just us sitting on a dock watching the Yankees game on an iPad,” referencing Cordeiro’s Instagram story.

To be fair to A-Rod, there was (hopefully) more to the date than just sitting by the water and likely listening to him reminisce about his glory days in the Yankees’ iconic pinstripes. However, the image of someone as wealthy and well-connected as Alex Rodriguez pulling out his iPad to stream a late August game on the YES Network app is undeniably amusing—and also so quintessentially A-Rod.
Rodriguez has been dating Jaclyn Cordeiro, a fitness instructor with over 138,000 Instagram followers, since October 2022.
Before his relationship with Cordeiro, Rodriguez dated model Kathryne Padgett and was famously engaged to pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez until their split in 2021. After Lopez’s recent divorce from Ben Affleck, Rodriguez posted a cryptic message on Instagram, saying, “You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction.”
Earlier this month, Rodriguez made a return to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, to participate in the organization’s Old Timer’s Day, which honored the 2009 World Series-winning team for the first time.
