The team received an exception for Reyes because he is part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, allowing them to have 17 players on the practice squad instead of the usual 16.

It’s important to note that every player the Vikings signed to the practice squad was with the team throughout the preseason and training camp; they did not bring in any players from outside the organization. In previous years, the Vikings have typically included at least a few players from other teams on their initial practice squad.

With that, the 53-man roster and practice squad are now finalized—at least for the moment. We’ll have to see if there are any changes before the Vikings play at MetLife Stadium a week from Sunday.
