Brandon Aiyuk is staying put with the San Francisco 49ers.

On Thursday evening, the 26-year-old wide receiver and the team reportedly finalized a substantial new extension that will keep him in the Bay Area for the next five seasons. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Aiyuk’s new deal is a front-loaded four-year, $120 million extension, with $47 million coming his way by April 1, 2025. The contract includes $76 million in guaranteed money and will ensure he remains with the 49ers through the 2028 season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that Aiyuk accepted an offer that had been on the table since August 10. Despite a hold-in during training camp and the preseason, it seems this did not alter the terms of the deal, although Aiyuk’s agent, Ryan Williams, disagrees with this assessment.

Aiyuk, a former first-round pick, had a standout season in 2023, earning second-team All-Pro honors and helping the 49ers reach Super Bowl LVIII. He recorded a career-high 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, with an impressive average of 17.9 yards per catch. This followed a strong 2022 season where he caught 78 passes for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns.

By securing Aiyuk, the 49ers are maintaining key components of Kyle Shanahan’s offense for several years. Currently, Aiyuk, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle are all signed through the 2025 season.
