The New York Knicks boast one of the strongest lineups in the NBA, but the center position remains an area where they could use improvement.
The New York Knicks have reportedly attempted to acquire a promising young center from the Utah Jazz. According to Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus, New York engaged in discussions with Utah about Walker Kessler.
“Multiple sources indicate that Utah has considered trading Kessler in the past, including a stalled conversation with the New York Knicks. He doesn’t appear to be part of the team’s long-term plan,” Pincus noted.
There is no indication that the Knicks and Jazz were close to finalizing any deal, and acquiring a player of Kessler’s caliber would likely require New York to give up some draft assets, which may have contributed to the talks stalling. Nevertheless, adding Kessler could address several issues for the Knicks and bolster their depth for the 2024-25 season.
