Talented QB Bold Move: The Surprising Reason He Chose the Bills

The Buffalo Bills are confident in their elite quarterback leading the offense, but the question of who will back up Josh Allen remains somewhat uncertain.

While the Bills signed Mitchell Trubisky, his knee injury could prevent him from stepping in immediately if needed. To address this concern, the Bills decided to bring in Mike White, a former backup quarterback for the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.

After being released by the Dolphins on cutdown day, White quickly signed with the Bills, marking his third AFC East team. Reflecting on the whirlwind week, White expressed surprise at how fast everything unfolded with his new team.

“I got released in Miami, drove up to Tampa where I live, and then got a call from my agent saying (Brandon) Beane was interested. The next thing I knew, I received a text from Josh Allen with two eye emojis. It all happened really quickly,” White shared after a Bills practice.

In his first three seasons in the league, White has a 2-5 record as a starting quarterback with the Jets, throwing nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

As the Bills’ third quarterback, White provides valuable depth and could step in as Allen’s immediate backup if Trubisky isn’t ready for the start of the season.
