Breaking News: NY Yankees Stun Fans with shocking decision on Star Prospect

NY Yankees Stun Fans  As the calendar turned to September on Sunday, the New York Yankees, along with other MLB teams, gained the ability to expand their rosters. Many expected the Yankees to call up their top prospect, Jasson Dominguez, to give the young outfielder more major league experience. However, that didn’t happen. The 21-year-old was not included in the roster expansion, and Manager Aaron Boone explained why.

Boone mentioned that when Dominguez finally gets called up, the team would want him to play every day. For now, he’ll stay in the conversation, especially since he’s been playing well after recovering from an oblique injury. Boone acknowledged the tough decision but indicated it could change in the near future, possibly in a few days or weeks. He emphasized the importance of Dominguez continuing to get playing time.

This decision is particularly noteworthy given the Yankees’ recent struggles. Despite leading their division with a 79-58 record, they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 14-7 on Sunday and have gone 6-8 in their last 14 games, including four losses in their past five outings.

Why didn’t the New York Yankees call up Jasson Dominguez?

Boone explained to reporters that Jasson Dominguez’s earlier oblique injury played a significant role in the Yankees’ decision to keep him off the expanded roster. The 20-year-old from the Dominican Republic made his MLB debut with the Yankees last September and has appeared in just one game for them this season.

One of the challenges Dominguez faces is finding playing time in a crowded Yankees outfield, which features stars like Alex Verdugo, Aaron Judge, and Juan Soto, with Giancarlo Stanton locked in as the designated hitter.

Despite these challenges, Dominguez has impressed in the minors this season, posting a .313 batting average and an .870 OPS across three different levels.
