Seattle Seahawks welcome Former BYU quarterback Jaren Hall has secured a spot for the 2024 season.

On Monday, it was announced that Hall has signed with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. After being released by the Minnesota Vikings during roster cuts, Hall faced uncertainty about his next move. With only two quarterbacks on Seattle’s roster, they decided to take a chance on the former Viking.

Although Minnesota tried to re-sign him to their practice squad, Hall chose Seattle for a clear path to the QB3 role.

He impressed during the 2024 preseason, leading all NFL quarterbacks in passer rating. In his limited snaps during Minnesota’s second preseason game, Hall threw two touchdowns and achieved a perfect quarterback rating. His subsequent performance was even stronger, as he completed 17 of 25 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks will begin their 2024 season against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, September 8.

About Jaren Hall

Before his time at BYU, Jaren Hall was a standout player at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah. After high school, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. Upon returning to Utah, Hall attended BYU.

At BYU, Hall played from 2018 to 2022, including two years as the starting quarterback. In December 2022, he decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2023 NFL Draft. During his college career in Provo, Hall accumulated 6,174 passing yards, 52 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, with a 65% completion rate. He also rushed for 798 yards and nine touchdowns.

In April 2023, Hall was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 164th overall pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.
