BREAKING NEWS: USC Trojans football legend calls it a career after years of defying the odds

On Thursday, USC honored Bears quarterback Caleb Williams by retiring his jersey No. 13. The number will be displayed in the peristyle at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum alongside Reggie Bush’s, one of USC’s eight Heisman Trophy winners. Bush, who had his Heisman Trophy reinstated in April after NCAA sanctions, and Williams, who won the award in 2022, are both celebrated Trojans.

The announcement was made in a video featuring numerous celebrities in true Los Angeles style. John Legend, who performed “Ordinary People”—a song Williams famously struggled with on “Hard Knocks”—extended his congratulations, as did rapper Snoop Dogg and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.
