GM Shoots Down Rumor: Ravens Never Had Derrick Henry Trade on Deck
If you’re a Baltimore Ravens enthusiast, you might have caught wind of a recent report suggesting the team was set to acquire Derrick Henry before they actually did. The Ravens signed the veteran Titans running back in March to a two-year, $16 million contract, potentially worth up to $20 million with incentives.
Last week, it was reported that Baltimore and Tennessee had reached a tentative agreement mid-season to trade Henry for a conditional third-round pick. However, the deal fell through when key figures in the Titans’ organization opposed it.
Titans General Manager Ran Carthon has refuted this claim, stating, “No, I wasn’t offered that deal. I don’t know where that came from. We had multiple teams inquire about Derrick, but none of the offers were worthwhile, and I communicated that to Derrick. We never agreed to anything.”
So, was the original report just misinformation? While only those directly involved know the full story, it seems the deal nearly happened, but the Titans ultimately decided against it.
