Brent Venables reveals a major plan, assuring that Oklahoma’s offense will ‘get better’ after poor start to season.

Brent Venables is urging patience as Oklahoma’s offense faces early-season challenges, dealing with key injuries and adjusting to new offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. Injuries to key players like wide receivers Jayden Gibson, Jalil Farooq, Nic Anderson, and a shuffling offensive line have disrupted the team’s rhythm. As a result, the offense ranks 57th in scoring and 108th in total yardage.

Venables emphasizes that the team is committed to improving, though it may take time. He highlights the importance of chemistry and experience, especially with less-experienced players stepping into key roles. The Sooners have incorporated more high-intensity practice to prepare these players, but execution remains the main issue, particularly on third downs where they rank 131st in efficiency.

Seth Littrell and offense continue downward trend

Venables is confident that the offense will improve as the team fine-tunes its approach, with Tulane next and the daunting SEC schedule looming. Offensive coordinator Seth Littrell also remains optimistic, stressing the need to address mistakes while praising the team’s resilience.
